If all goes well, visitors to next year's Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (Lima) exhibition may get to see at least one of the Royal Malaysian Navy's submarines.
The two Scorpenes -- KD Tunku Abdul Rahman and KD Tun Abdul Razak -- are set to be delivered in January and October next year, respectively, and if they arrive on time, could feature in Lima '09.
Ahmad Dzuhri Abdul Wahab, managing director of Lima '09 organiser, HW Lima Sdn Bhd, said the company was in discussions with the Defence Ministry over the possibility of at least one submarine being shown at the exhibition. It is understood that the Royal Malaysian Navy is keen to show off the pride of its fleet.
Sources said RMN top guns were hoping that at least one of the Scorpenes will be delivered before Lima '09, set to be held from Dec 1-5.
